Since our founding in 1925, the women of PPWC have actively sought to fill the needs of the community. From the Tetanus and Polio Clinics, Shut-In Visits and Meal Kitchens of yesteryear to our current service projects, we were and continue to be the "Heart of the Community".
Some of our current projects:
Pacific Palisades 90+ Birthday Party- Every resident of the Palisades who is 90 or more is invited to a big birthday bash hosted by the PPWC. We honor this amazing group of people with a fun-filled Saturday that includes lunch, entertainment (courtesy of Pacific Palisades local businesses), hospitality, conversation, and lots of birthday cake, of course. It's a perfect opportunity to bring together several generations of community members to interact and be encouraged by each other in a caring and light-hearted environment.
Free Flu Clinic- November 12th we partner with the LA County Health system to offer free flu shots to seniors in our community
Palisades Halloween Window Painting Contest is organized and judged by the Woman's Club volunteers. The colorful windows raise the spirits of all who pass by during the two weeks before Halloween when they are displayed. Groups of children in the community join together in creating their own designs, based upon a specific yearly theme, on a designated store window in the Palisades business district, along Swarthmore and Antioch streets. The winning teams are featured in the Palisades Post and awarded prizes. Teams are organized by age group, and include scout troops, groups of neighborhood friends, church or synagogue youth groups, and more.
