In Service to our Community

We truly live up to our unofficial motto "fun, friendship and philanthropy". Our major activities raise funds to support worthy causes in Pacific Palisades, provide needed services to seniors, children and others, and give us an opportunity to build lifelong friendships.

Grants

Over the years, the Pacific Palisades Woman's Club has granted more than $1,000,000 through it's philanthropic efforts to over 30 Pacific Palisades charitable organizations. In 2015, the PPWC has set aside a minimum of $10,000 for distribution to qualifying organizations.

How To Apply For A Grant

How do we decide which organizations will receive awards and at what amounts?
Each PPWC member, members of the Grant Fund Committee, and Grant Fund applicants will participate in the selection process.

When do grant recipients receive their awards? The first Tuesday in March, chosen grant recipients are awarded with checks from applications received by November 16th of the previous year.

PPWC understands the importance of non-profits having a dedicated space to conduct activities benefitting the community. For this reason, the PPWC offers use of the PPWC clubhouse facility at greatly reduced or waived rental rates to qualified nonprofits and community-based organizations.

The types of permissible events for reduced rates include:
  • Community events such as seminars, concerts, lectures or other speaking engagements for community attendance;
  • Meetings, retreats, or strategy sessions which directly relate to the furtherance of a project which benefits the Palisades community
  • Training sessions for a program which directly benefits the Palisades community
Nearly 100 different organizations utilize our facility annually. For more information, please see the Clubhouse Rental tab of this website.

Service Projects

Since our founding in 1925, the women of PPWC have actively sought to fill the needs of the community. From the Tetanus and Polio Clinics, Shut-In Visits and Meal Kitchens of yesteryear to our current service projects, we were and continue to be the "Heart of the Community".

Some of our current projects:

Pacific Palisades 90+ Birthday Party- Every resident of the Palisades who is 90 or more is invited to a big birthday bash hosted by the PPWC. We honor this amazing group of people with a fun-filled Saturday that includes lunch, entertainment (courtesy of Pacific Palisades local businesses), hospitality, conversation, and lots of birthday cake, of course. It's a perfect opportunity to bring together several generations of community members to interact and be encouraged by each other in a caring and light-hearted environment.

Free Flu Clinic- November 12th we partner with the LA County Health system to offer free flu shots to seniors in our community

Palisades Halloween Window Painting Contest is organized and judged by the Woman's Club volunteers. The colorful windows raise the spirits of all who pass by during the two weeks before Halloween when they are displayed. Groups of children in the community join together in creating their own designs, based upon a specific yearly theme, on a designated store window in the Palisades business district, along Swarthmore and Antioch streets. The winning teams are featured in the Palisades Post and awarded prizes. Teams are organized by age group, and include scout troops, groups of neighborhood friends, church or synagogue youth groups, and more.
